Thanke all that came, I was SOOOO buzy in IM all night, I got about a TON of gratz I hope I didn't miss to say hello to more that half of you. The party got running a little late, Balp was on time and music up. But I had missed to decorate and drop out my R2D2. Finality 12:24PM R2d2 was out and started logging. And xerx opened the party with: "The audience is allowed to dance now *giggles*".

I think the only one R2D2 missed was Falcon Kaligawa and Meimei Meili.

Time to introduce the next step in roleplaying security system. The Nadine Burglar Buster is a alarm system that works in a way you never experience before. The system mimics a real life security system adding to the realism of your role playing experience.

The Nadine Burglar Buster have been designed to work as an replacement for a security orb in environments where these are forbidden. Especially targeting the role-playing community. It is designed around realism, when an intruder breaks the laser sensors the alarms goes off. An klaxon siren and a light will alert anyone in the area of the intrusion. A small message will also be sent to the owner and other selected people that the alarm have been trigged.

The operation of the Nadine Burglar Buster is done by one or more keypads, this way you don't have to manage groups or keys. Just set up a code and send that out to the group. Entering the code will turn the alarm between active and deactivated.

As Xstreet changes, new places for my main web-shop have to be found, at the moment I have added my self to. Slapt.me and meta-life. I already had apez account, at writing there are 9 promo boards left. The three placed have different operations, but on the website it about the same. Most have the functions that OnRez had. Categorizes differ a little, thet interfaces differs. But mainly they work as SLX and OnRez.

Half of the fun of this job is planning new bells and whistles -- and the other half is bringing them to life. So today, I am pleased to announce that AvaLine: Dial an Avatar has completed its beta program and is now online and ready for subscribers.

With an AvaLine, a Resident can receive calls from anywhere in the world, while inworld. AvaLine beta users, for example, found a number of inventive ways to incorporate real-world phone calls into their inworld experiences:

* keeping in touch with friends and loved ones
* taking calls while staying immersed in the inworld experience (e.g., no independent apps to manage, handsets to juggle, etc.)
* providing business associates an easy and cost-effective way to communicate
* giving social contacts a discrete way to connect
* reducing or avoiding long-distance telephony charges

How to use an AvaLine
To talk with a Resident, a caller simply dials a nearby local access number (available in more than 40 international cities), and enters the Resident's personal connection code. If the Resident is online and accepts the call, the two parties can begin talking immediately, just as on a regular phone call or inworld voice chat. If the Resident is not inworld or declines the call, the caller may leave a voicemail message that the Resident will receive as an email attachment. The caller pays only what's required to connect to the local number, and the Resident pays only the flat-rate AvaLine subscription fee, regardless of the geographic distance between the parties, the number of calls received, or the number of minutes used.

How to get an AvaLine
Go to secondlife.com/avaline and log in. Click the 'Manage Your AvaLine' button, and select the service and billing frequency you desire. The system will generate a personal connection code for you, and you can begin accepting calls immediately. To aid busy communicators who engage with multiple groups who don't mix, you can subscribe to as many AvaLine connection codes as you require. Each connection code costs L$ 1500 if billed monthly, or L$ 1200 if billed annually (as a once-a-year payment of L$ 14,400).

How to get voicemail
As part of the AvaLine launch we're offering free voicemail for the rest of 2009! Voicemail setup is quick and easy -- just go to secondlife.com/avaline, click the 'Manage Your Voicemail' button, type in your email address and make sure the 'enable' box is checked, and click 'Apply'.

How to keep an AvaLine code from the beta program
Log in to the Second Life Support Portal, open an 'AvaLine Beta Migration Ticket', and fill in all the fields that begin with "AvaLine." On 1 September 2009 we will keep your connection code in place as we convert your account to a standard subscription with billing recurring in the frequency you select.

Probalt not at all, well my avatar is not RL, I will not give out privacy information to anyone, I don't use voice.

* What else do you wish you could do with your AvaLine?
Not sure i can see any real used for the old phone system, who outside SL do i really like to talk to? Well as my avatar I mean.

* What is your biggest communications challenge in or related to Second Life?
Getting group chat to work, look att the Emerald Gang they even added IRC in world to work around your not working group chat, groups been borked for years, we need more than 25, we need working chat, we need working massages. We need not to get delivery crapped when away a day or two.

* What is your favorite way to communicate?
IM, text chat, it's quick and also time independent, Don't interupt my RL, people in my RL don't get disturbed, I can look away two minutes and not miss it, I get a log of what was said. Texting text messages rawk......

What are mature? Is mature PG?

Linden labs have now gone out with what they think Adule are... and its' pretty much all then been mature before. Any Sexual or violent content are now adult.

Before i saw violence, sex, or nudity as a sign for mature, all other was ok ang PG... Now these are the Adult signs, what are left not Adult and not PG?

Representations of intensely violent acts, whether or not photo-realistic (for example, depicting death, torture, dismemberment or other severe bodily harm)
Photo-realistic nudity
Expressly sexually themed content, spaces or activities (whether or not photo-realistic)

LL Sais "Second Life's Mature Designation is intended to accommodate most of the non-adult activities that are common in Second Life." But why not make it PG? What are the few things that might fit between...

Peter that helped me also wrote about the boards on his new project, Gadgets for the virtual world. A new place where you should be able to read and get new all of all that isn't fashion related in SL. Talking of the boars, one more feature got added on Monday, auto timed contests. E.g. the contest does run into vote, end after a predefined time.

I hope to make an other nice addition tonight as I host, play or code at Blacklist.

Having cleared up time in my life, mainly by doing less time hosting I got my self into updating my contest boards again. Well and building a new castle. Doing some final testing now and I hope to make is available this week.

New features that are finished:

Vote confirmation
Clearer page switching, board gets cleared between each page and a short delay as well
Remade display code, the 25 chars a 7 rows can now quickly and easily be rebuilt into a low prim version. Not being released at this moment.

Features being worked on:

Change of vote, You should be able to change your vote in an other contestant.
Vote to win, only voters able to win the contest, should be configurable
Clean up documentation
Clean up language, all messages I hope to get help in reading over by a native English talker.

Blood poisoning, part VII

Sixth part of the Blood poisoning, part I, II, III, IV, V and VI. When we start we are just dressing Inde up again after have tested his blood and soul.

Inde studies the pants I given him, "what do I do with these? they're so long", but he still even if reluctant takes them on while grumbling and looking at us. When he finally have them on he sais, "Ok, there". I thrown him the tee I collected with the words, "You might need it I can get cold here". His face frowns at me but he takes it on. As he gets it on he walks over to takes his shoes back on. As if to demonstrate he not like my offer of clothes, while he does Xerx give him a little warning, "Oh and when you hear something like screams and strange ritually tonight. Dun worry" as she finish this she looks at Inde's feather boa and asks him "Looks almost human, just....come on, gimma that stola". Something he care about the "noooo" scream almost instant. Xerx giggles and much him a little "i wannit......i like it actually". I grab Xerx hand as we walk up to fill out the paperwork. After finishing the work I go out with Xerx to relax at the bar. What a day.

Blood poisoning, part VI

Sixth part of the Blood poisoning, part I, II, III, IV and V. When we start Xerxis have just digged her self into Indes mind, finding it in a total mess.

I stare at Xerx, "Is he drugged?" I ask her that not fitting the Inde I know. "something....hmmm...in his brain.... yeah might be drugs" she tells me. "I need a blood sample" I order her into the next part of the work. With a quick "Yes Mistress" she removed her hand with a little of his soul and takes out a syringe from her satchel. I can see how used he is, one hand searching the bag, the other keeping Inde against the wall. She have full control over him, oh I love that girl. Inde tries to pull, Xerx takes the needle to her lips the cup of the needle stays between her lips as she moves the needed in position to. Sticks into Indes arm and with out releasing the pressure on him she fills the needle with blood.

She pulls out the needle, his arm dripping with blood as she puts the syringe back into her satchel. She tells him "Ok then, that's it." We have about when we need, it's not terrorist, it's Inde even if his brain is messed up. "What do you think shall we keep him till we know how to heal him?" Xerx comes over to the door, while Inde massages his arm after the needle. "Hmmmmm in his actual condition, I would say we should keep him. At least until we know what's going on". I nod at Xerx as I let her out of the cell. "I mean he could as good be the one who poisoned the bloodpool." Not that I believe Inde could ever do anything like that. I raise my voice, "Inde, come here. Or was was it Paco Bell come here".

- "I'm not this Inde! my name is Paco Pablo" he replies, "yeah sure" I find my self adding for my self, keeps from saying loud and instead continues "What ever come here back against the door", as i can see he is not making any indication of moving I continue and starts turning form the door, "Suite you self, you can keep the cuffs". It have the intended effect and he comes crying to the door. I takes the cuffs off him, I try to calm him "Sorry we keep you till we know how to heal you. And next time don't resist"

He keeps rubbing his wrists, maybe I was a little hard on him. "You're not going to leave me in here are you? I'm innocent". "No not leave we be back with food", I reply as I start to leave him, I hear him bang on the door, "lemme out" he screams. As I turn I see the back room. There should be some old clothes in there. I go inand is able to dig out a tee and a possibly fitting jeans. With that in my hand I look at the cell again, Xerx next to me "I even believe that paco is innocent. But there is something that inde had to hide, So we keep him", I nod at Xerx as I throw inde the jeans, "Dress" I order him.

Fifth part of the Blood poisoning, part I, II, III and IV. When we start Nadine and Xerxis have just figured out that Inde is Inde. And are wondering why he lies about his identity.

As I call him Pablo, Picaso, Inde with definite anger in his voice snaps back at me, "It's Paco Pablo.. and I'm not a liar... I'm a dragonfly protector... I live in poppy fields". I study him somehow he don't make the impression of lying even if I know he is doing it, I just can't put my mind into what is happening.
"Ok" Xerx, starts and then make a long, pause like almost forever, "Mister Pablo" in this you can hear her being sarcastic, "Can you remember freeing from the cage in Mistresses dungeon?"

Inde continues his blabbering not making sense, "i've never been here before". Xerx presses him, "When did you came here then?". "right before she cuffed me", he points at me. I have lost my temper something is wrong, Inde have no fucking memory at all. We have to become drastic, I so hope Xerx will understand me. I pull my nightstick "Back off mister", I see terror in his eyes as he back off, "Give me your gun Xerx." I see Xerx worry as she hands me her gun, I aim at Inde, as she asks me her voice questioning me, "What...are you want with it, Mistress?" "You can't go in there armed". My answer satisfies her and I see her take the small backup gun form her back hands it over to me. I take it and open the door slowly, "dont shoot me... i'm innocent.. noooo".

Xerx walks slowly into the cell talking calming to Inde, "I am not armed....at least not with a gun." she turns at me, "And now, Mistress? Take his blood?". As the cell door closes I holster my gun, "Get into his soul, see if you can fix his memory." I see Xerx shrugging, "my memory is fine", inde protests, "Erm if you say so", "you wanna erase my memory so I cant report you for entrapment", he counters, "Oh good idea, should i, Mistress?". "You might take out the parts Hilda object..." I say as I watch Xerx get into work. She presses him towards the wall, "Ok, ...paco...stay where you are", he whimpers back, "Noooooo! dont hurt me". Xerx calm as always "Yessss, It dun hurt ....much". "Are you sure??" he is shrinking as xerx gets ready and pushed her hand onto his back "I am to 80% sure, now dont whine".

Xerx fist pressing against his chest, "AAaaaaa...that really hurts!!". "Come ooooon didn't even do anything yet" she say as her hand passes into his chest, "Gawd" she whimpers and looks like she is going to vomit all over him. Never seen her like that before. "Its full of bugs and spiders, its a junkyard in here." I asker her "He lost it?" my mood goes down "Well I would say something put a mixer in it and messed it up." what did she mean with that, but most importantly "Can you fix it? And how?" my worries for my friend of what left of him obvious. Xerx concentrates and despite the state of his mind digs into it.

"Hmm im digging deeper..." a brief pause "oh here, you where right...he liked it" she can't keep from giggling "ho geeeze blood. somehow he is full with visions of blood ....but no inde". I reply surprised "Someone stole Inde?".

"No the soul itself feels like indes still, but something messed so terribly with his mind that its not recognizing itself." she tries to explain my question is as simple as it's clear "How do we heal him?", my eye beg to Xerx to have a solution, "I feel though....hiding, fear of getting caught I dunno, its not a soul thing, its...well I would say more mechanical...maybe chemical..."

Third part of the Blood poisoning, part I, II and III. When we start Nadine and Xerxis are interrogating inde, not yet knowing his identity.
If his madness about yellow submarines was funny a second ago. It stopped. I take a step back as silent as the man, his eyes closed hard holding his breath face turning red. This is bad, what happened, what will Hilda say. My brain fills with questions, I hear Xerx asking eagerly "Do we know him, Mistress?". The man cant hold his breath any more and whimpers out a cry for help, "i'm gonna turn orange!!" Xerx outside not having seen the man, she is almost bouncing to see who it is, "Who is it?". Take a form step towards the door, gives Xerxis the order to let me out. The man turns behind me as the cell door locks with a clank. Xerx order him to turn and then she catches a glimpse of his face. "Cooooool we got Inde".

- "I'm gonna be orange", Inde starts to cry.
- "Noooooo! its our blood not the air. no one turned orange anyway. I mean not our blood, the blood in the pool. You didn't drink from the pool, did you?" Xerx takes charge my brain still occupied on what to tell hilda. I wisper to Xerx, "Hilda kill me if she"
- "i didnt even get into the city before i was abused" he replies shaking his head. As i tell xerx, "I found him by the door".
- "Abused?"
- "she exploded me", he replies waving his hands at me. walking nervously around outside the cell.
- "I arrested you for lieing. What are you name?"
- "i was telling her the truth, i'm Paco Pablo"
I shake mu head at him, a sad expression in my face "No your not..." seeing a friend like this hurts, badly.
- "i am Paco Pablo", he is sure of him self, something is really wrong.
- "explooded?" then she turns to me, "you blew him off?"
- "i was just standing there and then BOOM!! and i'm on my back in cuffs"
- "I think he lost it. I distracted him with one of these" I get a dynamite stick from my belt and show Xerx.
- "Oh, he is plem plem. I think we should better take him to a hospital. Or a psychatric clinic"
- 'see she admits it, she abusive' he adds with raised eye brows.
- "Well this is not really abuse when Mistress tricks you......"
- "entrapment!!" he screams.

I look inde over my eyes goes down a little, "I think he liked it."

Blood poisoning, part III

Third part of the Blood poisoning, part I and II. When we start Nadine and Xerxis are interrogating inde, not yet knowing his identity.
- "Why did yo have the gas mask?" I stare at the man.
- "I told you that too, I heard there was a contamination of some kind in the city I'm just being careful." This is definitely a lie, or at least a lie to some part.
- "Careful form the angel dust?" I look at him and try to feel his reaction to angel dust.
- "Well its not the air that is contaminated. You don't need a gasmask." I hear Xerxis add, not sure I liked her to share so much information at this point.
- "I've never even seen angel dust, I wouldn't know what it looks like" he tries t9o get him self out of it.
- "But you knew it was angel dust"
- "no you told me"

As I say this my hand reach down over his underpants, I let my finger into one of the rips, I feel the tear betting bigger.

- "no, no clue at all.." I see his eyes widening, and is there not a small red colour below the mask, I need to take the mask off him soon. But when I need him to fear again. While grabbing his manhood throw what ever panties he have on I ask. "and you choose a Gas mask and no clothes?" He is back to mocking me with his answers, "I'm wearing clothes, you're aware of that aren't you?" He really like to call ripped panties and a feather boa clothes. I hear him gasp the grip on him having the intended effect. "I bet you was here to release something in the air, like angel dust", he almost scream back, "Noooooo! i'm peaceful i dont wanna hurt anyone". I look into his eyes, "So you not mind me searching you then.", his response is what I like to hear "do i have a choice at this point?" he finally understood, do as I say in the only way out.

- "Take his shoes first, and then we dispose hims. These colorful things are no doubt precious for him" good thinking girl. She addresses him, "You could just take the shoes off, Mister."
- "i like my shoes, and besides i'm cuffed and dont wanna get a beating for moving", time to remind him who is in charge again.
I grab firm around his ball, knowing what fear this will struck into his body, "Do is the officer say" I add to make him feel the seriousness. As my hand gets his ball he start to kicking his shoes off. Definitely the result I wanted.
- "Wasn't that hard was it", I reward him with loosening the grip over his balls, massaging them, as I grab the gasmask. I see him closing his eyes as hard he can like a child trying to hide from the world, he have something to hide. Now it's time to drive him down the road of fear. I lean my body against him feeling him against my body making sure he feels my soft body. My lips almost touch his ear as is whisper "You not scared of me are you...." I can feel all his body being reacting in fear, he nods slowly at me, the hair on his neck rising. "You afraid to die?" I grab and start to remove the canister from the gasmask, each revolution slow, really slow making it feel like an eternity. He keeps nodding, as he could not do anything else. "You tell me your name". He holds onto the lie of "Paco Pablo", I add some pressure around the balls in my hands.

- "Should i go an dcheck mistress?"
- "Paco, in the registry?" I ask her I notice her working on the pda.
- "arrgh, please believe me i'm telling the truth"
- "no, not in files. in non of them, no criminal, no citizen, nothing", so he lies for sure.
- "then i've been erased, i'm right here" his lie comes a gain as taken from a bad movie.
- "Where did you say you live? Do you have any ID card? and if not, why?" Xerx is starting to interrogate, I can relax a second and gives his ball some blood again, lets the canister from the gas mask fall the the floor looks up at him.
- "i live in poppy fields with the dragonflies"
- "Poppy fields? where should that be, please?" her voice as cute as ever. Inside me i can't help but to smile. I hear the man crying from fear, begging for his life, "i dont wanna turn orange. please dont expose me to anything unnatural" I can feel his all being consumed in fear, he if probably to scared to lie. But still nothing he says make any sense.
- "poppy fields is on the other side of rainbow river. surely you've been on the rainbow river?"
- "Nope, Are you living in fairytale land, mister?"
- "if i am, so are you. youre right here"
- "rainbow river, next comes the land of holes"
- "see you've been there, that's where i got my shorts, if you know about the land of holes, why dont you know of the rainbow river and poppy fields" his blabbering start to get on my mind. I release his balls and starts to undo the straps of the gas mask.
- "Because i am NOT lucy in the sky with Diamonds Mister. and I also not ride yellow submarines"
- "yellow submarines? that's just silly" he must have lost his mind, I see him close his eye as hard he can scare of something.
- "I don't believe him Mistress. He knows Wainbow river , but has no idea that you need a submarine to travel to the land of holes", I can hard keep my self for laughter as I remove the mask.

Blood poisoning, part II

This is the second part of Blood poisoning.
Luckily I have a shower at the police station, no way I would been able to take my self home. It been so much overtime since this terror attack on malka. As I get my self out of the shower I hear someone arriving, I can't take wrong on those foot steps and my mind fills with joy again. I turn around in the shower and there she in my vice chief Xerx, good as I step of of the shower and gets a warm smile and a hug I tell her "I love that but i need you with sacel and police uniform." I quickly dress and grabs her hand for a second of you as I drag her over to the cells.

Even before we are down the man screams at me, "hey, lemme out of here", he notice Xerx following me in his deluded state of mind he asks, "or is this my cell mate? Cute". As Xerx present her self, "Hey! there, I Xerxis, and I'm police officer", his smile disappears a second. I hand my weapons to Xerx and order the prisoner stop step into the cell. "Stand back prisoner", I get a mocking response, "What?! how can I escape if I'm away from the door?" I feel all the good mood hugging Xerx gave me leave my body, I take up the nightstick and repeats clearly, "Stand back from the door", I hear Xerx ask "Why does he wear a gasmask?" I should have briefed her, what was I thinking, well to late. At least the nightstick have the intended effect and the man steps back, I feel Xerxis support in my back as go into the cell, the door closing with a loud clanking sound.

Once again the interrogation starts all over, "Ok what was your name this time?", still lies, "I told you, my name is Paco Pablo, I'm innocent", innocent my ass i add for my self. I grab for the gasmask, he tried to evade me, I can see the tiny hairs in his neck rise and I feel the fear in my prey, good that is something I can use. His body hives with fear, and I notice the nipple rings he wear, lets see how he reacts on pain. I grab and pull in the ring repeating to him "So your name was Stupid Boy". I see his eyes flicker the body trebling, good he feels pain, why don't they just talk. I tell Xerx to get a syringe out and prepare to take his blood. I feel him panic in my arms, pushed him across the room and hard into the cell door. He screams in fear, "Noooooo! Holy crap!", and starts to cry. I press him towarde the door, wondering why he is familiar, "You talk now boy... No more lies....", still he lies, "i'm not lying, i'm Paco!!"

As I feel him cry, time to change, time to confuse. I stop pressing him against the door, my finger run gently over his chest, feeling his body fight the fear and pain. With my softest voice I keep asking him, and i get something "i wanna go home to the poppy fields and run with the dragonflies" he sobs in front of me. Telling something I can believe in good, reward him. "That i did belive", my fingers lightly stroking his chest, it feel nice, I focus again on work. "So why did you come to malka to spread angel dust". I'm not sure if his response is a lie or not, "i dont know anything about angel dust". Time to bait him give him something to look forward to "You tell me who gave you the angel dust and I give you a good time here...".

"i dont know anything about angel dust", and then he adds like pleading for his life, "honest". That might be true, then he continues "i dont know any angels, and i dont do drugs" I get the feeling he lies again, "Now THAT i dont believe", i hear xerx add, my fingers gently trace there way down over his chest, I smile and look up to him leans my head to the side, "Of course you don't and they did force you" I feel him shaking in fear and confusion he is close to cracking. I can feel his his tense tummy under my fingers. I lightly almost like a lover strokes his belly keeping him confused.

Roleplay logs form malka

Background: The blood pool in malka have been poisoned, the sample taken have shown that angel dust have been dropped into it. No one know who and why. We are running short of blood and d3MentiA Chief of Police, Nadine are working hard to find the responsible.

After a long day hunting for anything that could lead me close to getting the people that dropped the angel dust in the blood. Tired and with my feet hurting I come home. As I'm about to finally get a shower and some clean clothes on, walking tired into malka a stranger appears. A stranger impossible to ignore, dressed in or undressed in. I take in the order my eyes noticed, gasmask, feather boa, ripped boxers, really dirty socks and not the best matching sneakers. I lift my eyes again, shit more work passes throw my brain as I hear him say, "evening ma'am", I nod back a "Hi there". There is something familiar about them man. But what, while deciding what to do I deride to keep him busy talking. "Welcome to malka."

- Thanks, i've never been here before. But I can hear he is almost laughing behind his mask. Finding it hard to believe him I try to size him up, I hear him self continuing calling him self Paco. I get the cuffs into my hand, the cold metal making me feel safe somehow, knowing I have the law on my side. I ask him to take the mask off, something he refuses. He looks strong, the small talk make me sure he is crazy. Dangerous for sure, and no backup around. Don't dare using the radio now, he is to close will hear. The panic button? No, I have to little, just a hunch. I have to trick him. My voice runs on professional, I hear my self asking, "You know any angels?" I get a lie back, "nope, no angels... I met a few demons thought".

I remember something, don't I still have the dynamite in my belt, yes it there. And the burner, still warm. Good, keep talking distract him. Ask something proving keep his mind occupied, "So you say your first time here, not been here fighting before?" Look like it worked, I hear the fizz, "no, I don't do any fighting, I'm a peaceful man", my mind adds yeah sure right, as I flip the dynamite towards the wall. He says "maybe I should go, you look busy here", shit explode, I count in my head, 4, 3, 2, 1, then as the explosion goes off, throw my self at him, I get his arms and while cuffing I presses him to the ground. The feeling of luck can't leave my body as he is cuffed without resistance.

Holding him down I start to search for weapons, "hey, get your hands off me, i didnt do anything" he tries to get out of the cuffs, I tell him not to move, stop to lie and hopefully this be over soon. He refuses to talk, "i'm not talkin'", and tries to distract me with the tail, darn lowlife, my patience if getting really low now, pulls his hair, and cuffs him to me, god he cant run, jail next for him. Never looks good to beat someone up in the street. He already scream for help and about police brutality, I pull him up, mostly by the hair, he know who is in charge now. I restart the interrogation, "Shall we start over again, What is your name?", he does prove he lies, hesitating and not remembering his name, "uhmmmm..what was the one I gave you?" first the second time now he remember his name, but decides still to lie. "Paco, that's my name" such a shame, "Paco Pablo", he adds, as if a repeated lie make me happier. We reach the corner into the square, quick look around no one around. Small push and he walks in the wall, "Watch your steps, be carefull, you might get hurt."

Now the bastard start to complain the cuffs are to tight as well. "these cuffs are too tight", "dont you have softer ones", what does he think lie to me and I take him on a nice picnic? I show him hard cuffs, if I press I should be able to get them three maybe even four steps harder. Only got two, maybe they was a little hard already. Well he know what hard are now. He keeps his stupid lies all the way to the jail, fuck I'm tired of these small time crocks. So it's overtime tonight, but first a shower. As soon he is in the cell I run for a shower and some fresh clothes.

I read in ITPro about WoW better that sl. But HEY! I have chosen before not to comment on WoW as i never logged into it, I have a copy still in the plastics beside my computer and will try any week now, that i said when I got it a few months back as well.

1. Subscriber base.

Yepp, WoW is bigger, so is Windows. Bigger ain't the same as better China isn't best just because they are the most. It can be better, it can be worse.

2. The users.

The argument your average ITPro more likely to be a WoW:er. HEY I LIKE TO MEET NORMAL PEOPLE! Is there any?

3 It's fun.

Omg I have so much fin in SL, not sure where they been to miss the fun in SL N00B island?

4. There is a point to it.

And if you don't spend 40 hours a week the teen's kick your ass. I prefer making my own point, if that is partying someday or whacking Vikings an other. I have no use in Blizzard telling my my goals...

5. The community

All SL is about community, you can even start to do anything almost with out others. The goal if you say so is the different communities.

6 Reliability

Yes LL read and wipe, it's better but you need to fix this.

7 You can play it with your real friends

I know many that play with there husbands, wife's, however kids are banned. I also know many making RL friend forever in SL.

8 It continues to grow

Yeah last month the price changed many island away, but as land and everything is made but the users. New exciting stuff pops up every day, not only when Blizzard decide you need to pay an other 500 SEK to get part of it.

9 WoW makes a lot of money

Yes playing WoW is expensive, is that good or bad?

10 It inspires genuine devotion

Looking at SL Bloggs I'm pretty sure we are as devoted as WoW:ers maybe even more.

Starting your SL business right

This is exciting.. I get to write about something serious for a change.. and Nadine Nozaki's The winter Market is who I got to be teamed up with! Writing about serious stuff isn't exactly what I'm famous for. My blog usually covers the world of 1. "Me" 2. "Clubbing" 3. "Exploring" and that's pretty much it. The topic I've been assigned is: "What have you learned about running your SL business and/or what have you learned from watching how Linden labs run their business" not a horrible set of topics if I ran a typical SL business or paid any attention to how Linden Labs ran theirs (from reading other peoples blogs there appears to be some question as to if LL actually runs their business or just lets it drift from crisis to crisis.)

I guess the closest I can do is talk a little bit about how to run a business based on my observations of how I've seen other people do it. Umm. So.. ok. Maybe I shouldn't talk about that either.

Well.. I guess that leaves me with what I've ADVISED people to do when setting up or tweaking their SL business. (I get asked to take a look at new clubs from time to time. And on occasion even get asked a serious question.)

I recommend new businesses start out doing a bit of competitive analysis. (btw.. this is called a SWOT analysis) I suggest that from a marketing standpoint they start identifying their strengths and weaknesses relative to specific competitors then taking a hard look at the opportunities and threats that exist in the market they have chosen to be in. I usually suggest they look at the market in broad terms as not just the other businesses that are direct competitors to them but anyone that is or could satisfy the basic needs their business is addressing.

The core financial decisions I usually leave to them to unwind (having not bothered to take apart Linden Labs server rates) but I do encourage a new business to carefully review their market and decide just where they best fit relative to everyone else. And I always recommend people talk to and befriend others doing what they are doing. (even competitors can be share basic information.. such as business ratios.)

The other question that sometimes gets thrown at me is about the branding of their enterprise. This is somewhat easier. Each of us in SL is essentially a brand manager for our avatar. How clearly we project an easy to understand "image" is reflected in how quickly other people recognize us when our avatar enters a room. The secret to managing a businesses identity is like that: clarity and simplicity. Start by being known for something, then as you grow, try to keep close to that original central theme.

Ok.. so.. um.. an example maybe.. for me..

I guess the closest thing I do to running a business is my blog and my famous money-losing bday/rezzday events. (btw.. This isn't a full SWOT analysis. Just a taste.)

To my knowledge no-one else is putting on monthly parties open to everyone. A key strength is basing the parties on Bday/Rezzdays – everyone has one, we all love celebrating them. A key weakness is that they are usually celebrated amongst friends more than among strangers. An opportunity was the idea of a easily promoted monthly regularly scheduled event. (since the competition is regular club events, private events, and special events on irregular schedules) And a threat is that of course anyone can copy me (they just can't copy "me".

My blog is just fluff with an occasional seriously written post.. lots of pointing out the genius of the great people I know (their blogs and stuff), and great things in SL to go explore. (the fluff is actually branding messages about "me" cleverly disguised as entertainment)

Costs for events are staffing and promotion. Period. And all my costs for events and the blog are measured in time even more than in dollars. (Venues are not a big cost factor due to my moving them around month to month and due to every club desiring greater traffic.)

Branding issues. Well.. I know a lot of great people that are lots of fun to go to a party with. And.. ahem.. I like to think I'm kinda fun to have around too. All my events and my blog are strongly associated with me and my image. Not so much to flog my ego as to consistently tie my blog and the events I associate myself with to a central image.. in my case: "me" (and "I" am also a unique competitive advantage unduplicatable by anyone who'd want to try to copy me.)

An extraordinary night in malka

This is a story from my roleplay life, to give a view of what my life is like.
My Grandsire Aeai and Elder Naline had given me some paper work to do, so I was sitting with Xerx on my roof, deep down in work. When I see many people I seen before coming into malka. Both the pack flooded in. I saw it going wrong, weapons being drawn, up I jumped. Telling Xerx to get ready and rush down, a big jump and I landed weapons in my hand next to the throne, Xerx still a little confused following behind me. I see my family in full fight with people I know is in the pack, I Michel a friend form the Brood standing there, I had to ask him if he was here to help us or not, his answer was " no, Nadine, I guess not". Sadly I had to turn my blade at a friend, over this I hear Karoline shout "Let's wipe out Malk pestilence!!". Somewhat surprised an other old friend here to kill me, but not time to think about it, I jump at Michel, he gets support of two more, that are now three on me and all old strong demons. I don't back an inch and keeps on hunting Michel with all my power, my mind focusing on the blood coming from his body each time my blade hits. Soon three strong demons get to much for me and I fall down on the floor. Slowly breathing and concentrating I let the blood in my body heal my wounds and craws back ready to continue my defence of the city. The outside attackers had really miss judged the malkavian defence will, and the healing power of our blood.
I fight with great fury, but still the attackers are many, I go down a second time, now Hanna and Arpahel helping to heal my body, as soon all limbs start to react I'm back down and offering my self to the defence, hopefully hurting them I fall again, get a demon foot on my back, pressing me down with the words "stay down" something I really didn't intend to do, all my mind and body working to get up and back helping my family, with blood running throw my mouth I utter my despise for the demons lowering them to help lycans, Michel next to me again answer me with "I help the Brood, Nadine. I help my family. My Queen stands near you" his queen adds "You're the one on the floor. If you want to talk about lowered". I can't hold back a giggle and as Karoline passes I use my strength to ask her, "you also help lycans", she bends down next to me and wispers, "That's your Malk Queens fault...she even not is worried about her own family why even does she not show up on the plate if she even is needed!" as if a single malk even would have thought about letting Mahrk getting even insulted with out offering our lives first, Karo should have know better she was once a malk, I could not longer hold back my laughter.
Soon my limbs answer my body enough to craw away, I find Michel down on the floor, as my vitae have almost left my body, feeling weak form rebuilding my limbs I put my fangs into his body and drink drink my self strong again, but as I stumble to my feet i get a sword in my back and fall again. Michel crawls towards me tries to smile in his pain and as our eyes meet I hear his voice "We have to stop meeting like this, dear" I'm still surpriced to see his family helping the lycans, not idea that Karoline paid them both much to come and attack us. We both get on our feet about the same time. As I stumble up I look at Michel and to give him some warning I speak to him, "Let me hunt you". This is the start of a long duel between me and Michel for about 20 minutes we face each other all over Malka until he finally falls for my blades. I bend down at his side gives him a kiss and whispers "Just my work." Before I can explain more his Queen jumps on me, and I have to finish the battle against her. As we finished and drove the last of the invaders home, I can catch my breath for a second and look around, what a mess, this place really needs cleaning goes throw my mind. Tired and thirsty I pull Xerx close and sinks my fangs into her neck letting her blood revive my tired limbs.
As I feel strong and ready again, my mind still tired form the fight a well known voice is heard all over the town, "I claim the Malka throne for me!!", Karoline had obviously lost all her mind, my brain was all clear before she had finished the sentence and I rushed to get her off Mah's throne, I'm there and throws my self blade first at her throat, Xerx is at my back but despite the help she pushed me down I hiss a curse at her, with the helping hands of my Xerx I get back standing I continue to attack in pure rage. Not feeling how she hurts my body. I notice her will falling back. I press on and she starts to run, behind the graveyard I reach up with her. Finding her chanting a spell, a portal starts to appear in front of her i push my sword thou her body and it collapses around my sword and falls into the collapsing portal, before I can push my self throw the portal that vanish before my eyes. I'm left standing my eyes focused on the blood of Karo on my sword not understanding how I defeated her.

I first met Gunner as Gem's boy in Seven sins, we sort of bumped into each others and he was always friendly and nice. The one of the first times, Wezen attached us, well me, Xerx, Sienna, Fenrys and Gunner. We kicked the demons ass, after a while Aeai asked me if I knew Gunner, she was looking for a sire to him. Such a cute boy and who can say no? With his girl already a malk he been nice and easy chylde. Always around to help and make me happy. Gunner is the one that always is around supporting never making any fuzz and now got him promoted to sire as well, my third chylde making sire.

Disconnecting Second Life to Real Life

Why? Why? Why should I like to connect my second life to my real life? I some like to make real life connections using second life, but me and I guess most of my friend are good with the rules:

SL is SL
RL is RL
RL comes first.

But from that I'll not say no to an other SL client, small light weight. Ajax life for me just don't make it, I get to much logged out, it times out. I would like to have something text based. Running at an other place, that can get passed a firewall. I can used SSH out. I want send IM's and read notecards. Voice, why, I'm in a landscape at work, in skype i only use the part text chat, why I DON'T what my colleges to hear. That gets even more true with my SL friends. For me? I don't think SLim will solve anything, I often reply on IM's using gmail, looks like that still will beat SLim. Getting all my SL friend in the gmail-talk list. That feature I really love.

The Verdict: SL5B was "Broadly Offensive"

It took me sometime to get this blog post out, why I been angry, disappointed, disturbed by RL and SL. Monday getting into my google reader i notice a post by Loki. I can't understand but Linden labs thinks this image is "Violation: Community Standards: Broadly Offensive Content or Conduct". I definitely is against any kind of child pornography, but to see this image as this is just plain stupid. It's a nice clean part of a set, avatar zodiac. It was on the SL5B. As you all know that event was the hardest ever in looking for "bad stuff". An event where Stephen Venkman's image got refused for showing a family. With this hard stance Loki got his nice avatar zodiac displayed on SL5B. Given Linden Labs know history, like last years burning man, and nipple gate. One should think a image passing there test at SL5B should be ok and one should have no fear of it being broadly offensive.

One of the exhibits from SL5B was so good that the cannery decided to prolong it and have it displayed there. It's been on display there a month then one person thinks maybe this is offensive. Loki appealed against the request to take his art down and Harry Linden found that the SL5B comity make SL5B an "Broadly Offensive" event. NVN talked to Scott Jennings about what the lindens should do in his opinion to make SL better. One of the three points was clan up mainland, and I agree SL needs to be cleaned up. Putting down time and resource on that would definitely been a better choose that on this clean up. Putting some time into cleaning up copyright stuff, would have been good. Some time talking internal and making the rules TOS clear would be nice. I personally don't use mainland, why because the landlord there don't care. On my private island k have a caring landlord, that makes stuff look good, it's that easy.

My gun slamming throw her claws, steel against steal, sweaty bloody bodies touching. As I got her down on her feet my Xerx came of from behind and assisted in binding her up. With some effort I was able to say over my giggling "My girl Xerx missed it being spar I think. Resurrect her instead Xerx". I sired Esco as soon as her mistress allowed her to become a malk.

Ever since Esco's dedication to be a great malk have been ever higher she is carrying our name loud and proud around all places. She walk with her head high along people that try to kill and spit on us. Never looking down or hiding her malk heritage. When she was promoted to sire I was so proud she had let me be her sire.

00 is a really crazy demon, I learned to know 00 in malka the first of my chyldes I meet there. 00 was like a puppet seeking for a master, me and Xerx did our best and after just a short time we knew 00 so well I sired him. 00 did a good job in the worst story of my time in seven sins. One day I was there walking with Xerx and 00, when we ran inte the pack of Andro, DonnieK, Aerlinniel, Raven and some more. I had to get off line and left Xerx and 00 there alone. When I came back the first thing the cowards had done was to attack all kill my girl, they bit her leg off and peed on her. I made me furious and soon I had the whole family there kicking there ass freeing both my chyldes. While we killed hunted all of seven clean of non malks, or allied I had 00 take my Xerx back to hospital in malka.

It's been a while now since I seen 00 around malka.

My second, or is it first chylde, This much depend on how you count, both she and Ellie was sired before I was promoted to sire, they both are my girls. I was on boths there siring and my blood was given to them Xerx also got some of Eme's blood in her. My Succubus Xerx I meet throw Ellie when they both where in the LOST family. I was walking around in seven some day after I hade collared Ellie when I say her talking to an other demon, I stayed in the shadows listening, the unknown succubus said, "Yeah, I can imagine that it can get difficult to be the ...how do you say? slave? of the enemy". I listened carefully to hear how Ellie would answer, "I prefer the term pet" she said proud, all of my body started to smile.
- That was the term I was searching for. Xerxis replied as she notice me, nodded towards me and added, Hello.
- But then, I wouldn't want to belong to any other. Ellie replies, with the Hello, she turned towards me and smiles out "Mistress Nadine" as she started to hug me.
I was great meeting that girl. We, me and Ellie, shared some great moment with her, more that two weeks after meeting her. An friend and his wife asked me to help free someone held prisoner by the kindred in wrath. We attacked and in the battle I notice Xerx, defending the place helping the Kindred. I wanted to get her out of there, if some of her family came, and to get to know her better. I dragged her over to the malkavian outpost in wrath, locked her up at the wall using some chains and then started to interrogate her.
I had just seen my Ellie doing some interrogation for the lost and got sort of inspired, got out the big drill I had used while we built the outpost, and whispered to her "I had a girl, a sis of yours that gave me some inspiration." Slowly I bolted her leg to the wall, as the pain grew, I both drank her blood to make her body relax and then feed her my blood to make it heal again. When I finally released her she knew what I'll do to anyone helping the anyone that hurt one of my girls. With Ellie help the day after I filled her again with blood and she was my girl.

Ellie, my first or second chylde depending on how you count. I told you a little on how I meet her, one day as I woke up, a malk sister of mine, Zoe was captures by the LOST family, Chii and most of the malks attacked the main entrance, I, Lilly, Adam, Nikolaij and Tekla storms the back door, two lost girls there confused by our tactics, sure that the main army above them will defend the place. The first think that happens is that I cut down Nima, then turns around, and runs over to take Elli out, with in one minute of the attack both Nima and Ellie lies bleeding at my feet. We where surprised how easy that when, Lilly said, "wow that all they had here", Chii gives the order, "Drag them back with us I have questions", I have just tied Ellie up and starts dragging her home with me.as i drag her past envy a guy, Luke something attacks me, even if surprised, I manage quite easy with my had still around the rope to Ellie bash him down quite easily. While the fight around me starts to grew intenser I dragged the prisoner home to Malka and down to the prison cells.

Back in malka, Zoe joins me to interrogate her, she drains the blood form the demon, I bit my own wrist and with a forceful grip in her hair, forces her to drink my blood. Confident that my blood had some effect, and I'll not tell you the evidence of that I released her out again on the street. During several days after I followed her stalked her and as soon she was alone I came out. Used charm and blood until I was able to put a collar on her. Masking her my first girl a position she made me very proud to keep her in. I never asked Ellie to leave her family, with my close position to them it was a workable situation. But in our minds we knew that someday was going to come an issue where we would have to choose out love or our family. It was very clear that Ellie would never become anyone but mine chylde in blood. I was loved my family, my Sire and Grandsire and would if possible so avoid never give them up. I secret we forged plans for her to come to my family.
When LOST kicked out Xerx, Ellie got so angry and disappointed in how the family treated her sister she came into verbal fight with selene(?) and left them. A few days later Aeai let me do her siring, with Maj as her guardian. The most proud moment of my life. Bringing in my first chylde to the malks.

Nadine's story

I will tell you quick some of the item's the happened to me since Kate turned me into the malkavian family. The night after I was taken care of by the malks, Karoline opened an embassy in vampires asylum, and asked for vampires to help in guarding it against out enemy there. I became one of the guards and tried to spend as much time protecting the embassy as possible. It was there I came to grew close to Sexy, a much more experience vampire than me. She have always been of great help.

Quite soon after that an other request form my family that had great impact on my life came. The family needed to know more about our enemies, especially the LOST family. They needed someone to spy, I talked to Sexy and Aeai, and went out on that mission. The travels took me to the city of seven sins, where LOST had there home. They didn't recognize my family line, I keep my true intention in there hidden from them, made small notes that I sent back to Sexy and Aeai. I did stay along the enemy, helped some of them in fights.Trying to avoid hurting any of my own family. One time I even quickly grabbed a malk and took him in a collar to make sure the enemy wouldn't get him.

After a short time they had gained enough trust in me to offer a position in there family, I could not take that step and leave my sire and grand sire. Soon after that they found out that I was an enemy, but by some reason they didn't come to hunt me, well not until much later. I was able to walk free, as long no other of my family was with me, in the LOST base. I was becoming more active and starting to gain some a name in my family. One day one of my sisters where captured by the LOST family and a raid to free her was mounted. As the main attack started, I and a few other vampires ran around to the back side of the prison, I used my knowledge and guided them into the prison. There was two guards down there, I was able to take them both out and free Zoe. To figure out what had happened, I put a rope around one of them ElLobo, or Ellie, dragged her with me back home to malka.

Dragging Ellie to Malka is the start of a new page in my story, in the prison with Zoe drag her blood and feed her from mine to make her tell what happened. From that moment I have been drawn to her, I followed her in seven, when ever I got a chance I tried to trap her alone, each time feeding her more of my blood. Making the bond even stronger, within a few days I put a collar around her neck. I had became a mistress. Quite soon there after I took my second girl, a friend of Ellie also in the lost family. My situation now was special I had two girls I cared for in the middle of the enemy. I must admit the thou of leaving my family not to hurt them crossed my mind.

However with the help of DonnieK, that thought was put to rest, his hate for my family, his will to betray and lie to revenge lead him to lie and manipulate his family. Xerx was thrown out of LOST, The situation became really hard, they even started to hunt her, all based on lies. She needed protection much protection more that I alone could provide. So with the help of Jon and Eme we brought her into the malks. Her succubus blood mixed with mine and Eme's. The situation now for Ellie became very hard and I talk long nights with my grandsire on how to get her out and under malk protection. Under the protective arms on Aeai I made my first siring ritual, bringing Ellie into our family. Soon after that I was appointed sire and able to bring in my own chyldes.

I know I have been writing very little on my blog. I sort of lost this energy. In addition to this much changed in my second life, with the drama around Dark Angels, i sort of grew tired of clubbing. Two of my old friends Kate and Aeai was talking to me and against my better knowing Kate became my Malkavian sire. Entering into CCS became a turning point, so much have changed. I spend now almost al my time in malka or an other ccs sim. These are amou8ng the better RP areas i have seen in SL. Yes there are problems, yes there are drama. There is always drama when more that one roleplayer meet. During my vacation i have started to think about what I like to do with this blog. I'm going to use the space to write about my friends and small stories from my vampire life. This first new post I'm planning to tell you about Nadine, who she became, my roleplay background so to at say. This story is much of a supposed story before I became a member of the malkavian clan.

First of all Nadine have Amnesia, she can't remember her past, so first comes what she remembers, then later the true story.

My background, the parts Nadine would tell a good friend.

Nadine can't remember much of her past, she remember a fire, someone she cared about being burned to asses. She remember meeting a vampire that cared about her she. She know she talks Swedish and English, even thou she can't remember why she know Swedish, it must have been her native language. At the moment the Malk's have adopted her, even if she knows she isn't of there blood she have something in common with them something in her blood that bound her to them something she doesn't like to know.

Some time she have dream's of a distant past, with motorbikes, drug-dealers and love. Or one of her shooting the dick of a nude sleeping male, she don't know why but she feels very satisfied by it. A feeling she can't repeat by shooting other males dick off, or cutting them from there bodies with her sword, yes she tried both, more then once. It's not very often she cares about stopping up and thinking, living from night to night, hunt to hunt. No more is needed.

She is proud of her self, and if anyone tried to push her, or insult her she don't think many second before reaching for her weapon. Taking her revenge in blood.

The Awenening

Nadine, born in a small Swedish village, in the deepest parts of norrland, have always liked to find something interesting to do. She didn't like the traditions of her home area. The boys only interested in snowcat's, hunting, fishing and drinking. She was born proud, and never ever let anyone push her around. In the small village, this often got her into trouble and she quite often had to physically fight of the boys.

At the age of 11 she ran off, hitch-hiking her way around Europe, the trip lasted for three months before she ran into a cop in London, but then her parents had taken her for killed and there been some talks in the news about the pedophile, that was supposed to have raped and killed her, the cop had recognised her from the news and she was on a plane home again. Coming home now was if possible even worse, the whole village knew, asked and talked about her, not to her. She had to leave and for good and never be found again. Nothing should be able to stop her this time, nothing she swore.

This time she planned carefully, got contact with some boys from Finland, that where going to ride there bikes down to France. She fixed her self a two faked passports, using contacts the Finnish boys provided for her. She guessed Pekka did it of hope for sex with her, no way she would let him have that but as long help helped why not keep him believing that. The day of her disappearance grew closer, she had all but how to get money in place. Then an opportunity came around, in the village shop and post-office a large shipment of money came.

As she knew the receiver of the money should be out of travelling for at least a day more, she knew there would be a change to get the needed money. During the night she broke into the store, took the money and left some of her clothes. The clothes she had soaked in some of her own blood before, then she opened a can of gasoline poured it over the floor, and stuck the place on fire. Just as she drove her stolen motorbike out of the village the shop explodes. She forgot that it was elk season and the place filled with ammunition. As she left the village all was awake, and that could see the taillights of the motorbike.

A couple of hours later she meet Pekka, just across the border to Finland, and with his gang she drove down across Europe, having the time of her life, free at last. The only problem was Pekka, more and more insisting on sex with her. Then one night in Madrid when she refused he raped her, something she never admits happened. In the early morning she took his gun, fired it between his legs, leavening nothing of if dick. She ran form the place, kicking all the other bikes to the ground. Passing the Spanish police leaving a note framing Pekka for the murder of her self. The following trial left didn't leave much room, for Pekka to defend him self, being sold out as pedophile and child murder in the press. Her revenge was complete.

The only think she missed was how important Pekka was in the criminal MC gangs across Europe, and they soon sworn to revenge him. A hunt for her started across Europe. Having the luck on her side she became aware of the gang hunting her before then knew how she was. By selling the bike and the gun she stolen from him she was able to get a flight ticker for Cozumel, in Mexico. Arriving there with no problems using one of her fake passports. At the tourist place she found that during the night she could flirt with boys and a little older men's to keep them paying for her food and then by the morning disappearing with there wallets, no-one dared to tell the cops they had been flirting with such young girl.

This work good for a year or so until she chosen the wrong target, Dark was the leader of a Californian MC gang, and had so much money she against her better knowing targeted him. He was genuine kind to her and she for the first time in her life feel in love. How it happened she don't really know but she ended up working for him in one of the brothels he had some interest in. This really didn't work or well, Nadine refusing to take orders from the Momma at the place. Quite often violently refusing her, she ended up getting fired, and in an other work running drugs across the border to the US. This fitted her, she had the time of her life, driving bikes around Mexico and California. Her innocent Swedish girl look charming the customs officers.

She really can't remember how long she worked like this, meeting Dark on and off one time in LA the next week some ware in Mexico, always during the night always out of the populates areas. When he suddenly told her that it was time she became of full member of the gang and go thorough the initiation rite. She had long dreamed of this moment and was so excited. That night Dark embraced her and her mortal life ended, she had never ever dreamed of the power he really had. With this new powers the drug running got even easier and maybe a little to easy. She ended up forming her own little group of bikers helping her. She lived, as she never done before, feasting from the addicts she supplied with drugs. Getting high almost every night, so often that dark got angry on her, but neither was able to bare hand on the other one and the just started to avoid each others.

Playing like this for years she never paid any attentions to what happened out side her gang. She had a great time and no need to worried or so she thought, the suddenly a night as they approached the border bikes filled with coke. The place lit up as daylight, she got really scared, looked around and the bullets started to fire around here. She jumped off her bike that crashed into Tim her current boyfriends, it fell over and both bikes caught fire. She can still see his burning screaming body in front of her. Scared and panicked she dug her self down into the ground, and hide there for days, or weeks, or was it years, she could not tell the time.

The finally the thirst drove her up from the ground, her vision blurred by the sight of burning her love. Even if she should no longer remember who it was in her vision, or why he was on fire. However the sad feeling she still carried, she walked around the night, sleeping in the earth during the day's she hunted who ever came close to her, killing or just drinking with out caring. She became a danger to her self and anyone getting to close to her.

She probably would have killed her self, or got someone with to much power kill her if she hadn't run into Katie one night, she was walking around with out plans, filled with blood. When an other vampire vampire crossed her path. With out really knowing why she didn't just jump on and attack the other vampire, something she done to the few others that crossed her path. Katie took her with her home, gave her some shelter and helped her to one again care a second about her looks, if not for more that to make the hunt easier. Soon they formed a strange band, she learned to know Katie's sire Aeai and there clan. For the friendship she would not think twice about sting in the way of any danger, if there is a danger as she is dead and have lost all she cares about. Or at least that what she tries to convince her self about. She can her how false it sounds but she don't care.

Vacation time

440 days ago I meet the most wonderful girl, A French Canadian sweet red item some called Codie some red, she became ma petite rouge. Today she is opening her own sim, and guess it's called, rouge. Linden labs didn't like the name red, so it became my favourite name. The place is build by Eshi Otawara and is the biggest WOW experience I had in SL. I can't put any words n it, I'm stunned I'm in LOVE.

There been a press preview of the place that soon will have the great opening party. And even before that I had the honour of showing PetGirl around the sim. Codie maintains a list of the press so far on the sim.

Yes, not that I hate the Dazzle look, but it's not a step forward. Then I feel the UI in the official viewers been much worse that in the Nicholaz version. However I think the CoolViewer have rejected a little to many changed actually taking the viewer forward. I look forwards to a Nicholaz version of the new multi skin available 1.20 viewer. I'm happy LL decided to listen to the users, I'm hopefull that something have changed now with M in the lead. I keep my fingers crossed and hope user experience will be driving now not technology, and I'm a really tech-savy.

I have found this nice litle web site, Avatars United. Fit's little Nad perfect, I like the extra socal stuff in facebook, and i hate to expose my RL. So this description fit me perfect "Avatars United (AU) is a community for your virtual avatars. Register your avatar, upload your profile picture, write your biography and share some of your exploits in virtual worlds through pictures, videos and blogs." Then the gang behind the page is so responsive to suggestions, gotta love them. Yeah I was planning to take it a little slow and test it a while before blogging about it, so Vint got there before me *giggle* Well one more thing get your ass in AU and lets beat the crap out of those WoW avatars *giggle*

I have intended for this event to be a little shorter that the Swedish Punk fest, but then Cellside, has his normal set at 1PM Sundays now, being under the planned time for my event we moved it earlier starting at 9AM. I talked to Cell making sure that we didn't intrude on his play. I came up that he planned to do a covers set. Is that coincident or what, and no-one ever asked if he liked to be part of events, so I have to take him into the event.

At 9:30AM Slt (18:00 CET, Sweden) Sjofin Oh takes the stage, She probably don't need any introductions to any of the Blacklist regulars. Sjo usually assaults your ears with a mix of hardcore, Metal, punk and Rock. She could play 12 hours of covers her self and we'll be jumping up and down off joy. However I just gave her 1:20 to compress the best into.

Then at 10:20 AM Slt, (19:20 CET, Sweden), my newest found DJ, ElLobo Nephilim or just Ellie, it's so much cuter, get on and plays her set. It's the fist time Ellie get on stage stage at Blacklist. She have been playing at Rainbow Tiger and will now be hopefully playing a little at Blacklist also.

Next DJ up, maybe for a shave is Balp going on at 11:40AM SLT (20:40 CET, Sweden), as Sjofin, Balp should be a know face to all your regulars. He will play a Goth, Rock and punk mix. Keeping your ears bleeding.

To end the night we have Cellside Unknown, 1:00PM SLT (22:00 CET, Sweden), you been to Blacklist you should know his mix of rock and metal. It's up for a stunning ending of the evening.

At 9AM Slt and for 6 hours or so there will be a mega covers event at the Blacklist, The line up so far is Sjofin Oh, ElLobo "Ellie" Nephilim, Balp Allen and Cellside Unknown. It's the first time Ellie will be playing at the Blacklist club. I sure look forward to seeing her in action at this great club.

Gwen started a petition to make Linden Labs, change there new trademark rules back to be close to the old fan site rules again. There are many worrying sign now in the virtual world. The former rules encouraged users to make use of names like coolsecondlife.com now suddenly we have 90 days to change. Linden labs have to start listening to us residents now, when you actions make good talented people like Nicholaz give up on you, it's a really bad sign. Please Lindens listen to us, we love second life and we love to stay with you. Please!

Introduction

Linden Research Inc., a company incorporated in Delaware, United States of America (”Linden”), doing business as Linden Lab®, developers of the Second Life® virtual world platform, owners of not only the Second Life® registered trademark (in the US, Europe, and other countries), and the eye-on-hand logo, but also of several recently registered trademarks (including, but not exclusive, to the words “SL”, “SL Grid”, “Second Life Grid”, “2nd Life”, etc.), has launched, in May 2004, the “Second Life® Fansite Toolkit”, which was later reinforced with referral programmes like “Viva La Evolution”, to positively encourage the widespread use of Linden’s trademarks, so long as it was quite clearly displayed that no infringement was intended, and a disclaimer to non-affiliation to Linden.
A direct quotation of the previous accepted use includes the following paragraph:

USE OF SECOND LIFE MARKS
While you are in full compliance with the usage guidelines described here, you may use the “Second Life” name on your website, as well as the related logos and graphics available at Toolkit, solely in the form described there. Additionally, you may use screenshots from Second Life to the extent that Linden Lab has the right to authorize use of the content within such screenshot, including screenshots of Linden in-world objects and Linden avatars, subject to these usage guidelines.

The full text of the acceptable use of Linden’s trademarks is published here. Three versions of the Fansite Toolkit were distributed by Linden, which included banners, logos, and a set of images, as well as a PDF encouraging their dissemination (the link is not available any more).

Under these gentle terms, users of the Second Life® platform have set up dozens of thousands of websites, blogs, forums, 3rd party services (both inside the Second Life® environment or on the World-Wide Web). The intended purpose of the “Fansite Toolkit” was not only accomplished, but overwhelmingly effective. From about 10,000 registered users in May 2004, the number of registrations climbed to over 13 million users in March 2008, and the growth continues — as well as the growth in the number of fansites related to the Second Life® environment. A quick search on Google comparing the number of times “Second Life” is referred on Linden’s own sites (9000+ results) compared to what the non-Linden sites (24 million results) shows quite clearly that the promotion and marketing of “Second Life” as a Linden product is, by far, being done outside Linden’s own feeble efforts — as it was intended.
The terms of the “Fansite Toolkit” enabled furthermore a small startup company in San Francisco, without any advertising, promotion, or little public relations in 2004, to create one of the most effectively known technologies on the Internet, enjoying raving press reviews in late 2006, and, since then, a product and an environment that cannot be further ignored by the mainstream. Like it or hate it, the Second Life® virtual world is now part of the Internet’s history. All this was achieved thanks to the huge community of very enthusiastic users of Linden’s platform, who have promoted its use way beyond Linden’s own ability to market their own product.

“Genericide”

The secret of Second Life®’s success was, however, accompanied by an adaptation of the word to describe not only Linden’s product, but a new concept that did not exist before: a community of users that generate content in a shared environment, using Linden’s tools and Linden-managed computer servers to provide an interconnected grid where this content can exist. The usage of “Second Life” was never strictly associated with the client software (the 3D viewer installed on users’ computers), the server software (running on Linden’s servers), or the communication protocol (which, until recently, was even unnamed). Rather, “Second Life” was employed, for the past four years, to describe all the above together as a technology empowering user-created content in a virtual world environment using Linden’s technology. The subtle difference has, however, huge implications. “Second Life”, as employed on the 24 million links stored by Google,^(ref) describes not patented software (the Second Life® client is, indeed, free and open source) nor a “technology”, but an “environment”, a “virtual world”.
The situation is very analogous to the usage of the terms “World-Wide Web” or “Internet” (the latter having at some point been trademarked by Microsoft around 1995, with little success), both describing a certain use of several technologies, hardware, software, and telecommunications, but where no definite claim can be made on the resulting environment created by a community of users. Derivative words like “Internet Service Provider” or “Web consultant” are popularly used. The difference between those two terms is that no organisation currently managed to secure a claim to those names.

But further examples are also common, where registered trademarks have been adopted by a community of users generating content for their platforms. Thousands of sites and technologies have used the term “Mac” in their names, or even “Windows” (clear cases where the respective owners, Apple and Microsoft, have indeed solidly claimed their registered trademarks). “Mac” and “Windows” fansites abound and help the promotion of these technologies and platforms. The difference, in those two cases, is that the popularity of those technologies was heavily promoted by their owners through massive advertising and public relations. And still both companies “allow” the widespread use of their trademarked names in 3rd party websites, fansites, service providers, or even products!

Second Life®, by contrast, never enjoyed the same level of promotion by Linden. It relied on the “Fansite Toolkit” as the primary — and most successful! — way of “viral marketing”, effectively crowdsourcing the co-promotion of the Second Life® virtual world by its users. And these, obviously, were very eager to do so — since all participants in the virtual world, Linden and their users, benefit tremendously from this cooperative promotion. “Your World, Your Imagination”, Linden’s motto for their Second Life® virtual world platform, was taken to an extreme, and perhaps unprecedented, level in the history of technology dissemination.

Linden, however, now fears (probably very correctly) that the usage of Second Life® might fall under “genericide“.

Recent developments

Possibly advised by their legal advisers, Linden announced here and here that they would start as of now to aggressively discourage the usage of all Linden-related registered trademarks, thus effectively reverting its four-year old policy of co-promotion through marketing crowdsourcing. The major issue with the current population of Second Life® users is that dozens of thousands of products and services were created within compliance with the old guidelines, and there is no provision made by Linden to “grandfather” existing services now currently in existence. Almost all have no legal protection that will allow them to contest any of Linden’s claims in court to shut their services down if they receive Linden’s Cease & Desist letters. Linden’s claim to their trademarks is, naturally, factually correct, unambiguous, and entirely within Linden’s rights.

There is, however, one aspect of Linden’s claims where we feel the Guidelines are overshooting the legitimate intent of Linden Research in preserving their trademarked brands and preventing their dilution. We refer to the section “Proper Reference to Linden Lab’s Brand Names in Text“, which basically outlines how any mention of terms trademarked by Linden has to be written any text published. Among other things, it claims to make sure the brand names are only ever used with an “appropriate generic noun” of which Linden provides a list, and that “as often as possible”, down to capitalisation, spelling, elisions and contractions. In effect, this precludes any usage of trademarked terms in text in most of the forms current nowadays, and dictates to commentators, bloggers and critics how and what to write when referring to trademarked terms.
The issue, however, is even more serious. Although Linden’s prevention of the use of trademarks under the new guidelines could be contested in court, either in the US or elsewhere, possibly appealing to estoppel, as a matter of fact, Linden can — through its new Terms of Service, that all users required to sign to access their content on Linden’s virtual world — simply ban any user that Linden considers to be in violation of their trademark claims. By virtue of the same principle, Linden can simply ban any user that exerts his or her rights to free speech, nominative use of trademarked terms as laid down by US law, or equivalent rights under local legislation.

This is “doing justice with your own hands” — without laws, without trial, without a jury, without recourse. The Linden Terms of Service allow Linden to ban any user from using their services, without any reason whatsoever. Linden can, at whim, delete accounts and content (even copyrighted content) from any user without a complaint.

Granted, complaints can be filed against Linden — but in a court of law. In at least one case (Bragg vs. Linden), a user of the Second Life® world managed, through a lawsuit, and with a settlement agreement, to get access to his content back. But this requires effectively users to sue Linden in order to get their access back, no matter if they are or not violating Linden’s trademarks. Linden does not require any impartial judgment to validate a user’s claims on the lack of violation. Linden can safely ignore their four-year-old policy and revert their decision at whim — because they can ban accounts that refuse to comply with their new Terms of Service.

In effect, Linden is able to enforce their own interpretation of the usage of their trademarks by banning all content they view as “threatening” to their claims on registered trademarks, no matter if it is displayed inside Linden’s virtual world or anywhere else on the world. Linden’s decision to ban avatars and remove content is unilateral and not appealable unless a user is willing to sue Linden in a court under the jurisdiction of the State of California.

This total reversal of Linden’s policy threatens to shut down most (fortunately not all) of the sites providing 24 million links to Linden’s products and services; it threatens to deprive Second Life of hundreds or thousands of 3rd party services, websites, fan sites, blogs, Second Life®-specific media, artistic and cultural developments, educational and research efforts — not to mention thousands or dozens of thousands of the most energic “evangelisers” that have co-promoted Linden’s products and technologies in the past which might, in less than three months, see their accounts banned and their content deleted with little or no hope of appeal.

Open petition to Linden Research, Inc.

The community of users of the Second Life® world always recognised, beyond a shadow of doubt, Linden’s full right to its registered trademarks, which were almost always duly credited, and clearly stated their non-affiliation with Linden and that they had no intention of infringing in any of Linden’s rights or claims to the trademarks. Some of those trademarks were never disputed, for several years since their registration and use by Linden, and Linden’s claim to them is solid and universally accepted world-wide. Linden, in return, gently condescended to a limited usage of their registered trademarks for specific purposes, well stated in a clear document (the “Fansite Guidelines”). The very few exceptions where abuse occurred could be effectively dealt with by Linden’s own legal advisers and were very reduced in number.
It is our belief that the extreme switch to the complete opposite of what has been actively promoted in the past four years is not a good marketing strategy — effectively, fighting off, one by one, all the most energetic promoters of Linden and their products, shutting down their right to talk and co-promote Linden’s technology and environment, ban their accounts, and remove their content. A four-year policy grants (at least under estoppel) the large community of enthusiastic supporters the moral right to request from Linden a better model of co-promotion, one that is fair and balanced, protective of Linden’s legal rights as valid owners of their registered trademarks, but also that allows “fansites” to continue to spread and promote Linden’s products without fear of litigation.
We thus propose the following:

Accept that, by introducing the “Fansite Guidelines” four years ago, Linden effectively allowed co-branding and co-promotion of their registered trademarks, so long as these were displayed on “website[s] created and maintained by residents or other devotees of Second Life®, with content primarily focused on some aspect of Second Life.” and had no other purpose. These “Fansite Guidelines” lead to fair expectations (under estoppel) of goodwill of Linden towards a fair use of their trademarks without intention to infringe on any of Linden’s rights.

Rewrite, but not eliminate, the “Fansite Guidelines” to be more strict, but still allow the usage of Linden’s trademarked words as part of the co-promotional effects, accepting that their existence in no way invalidates Linden’s claims on their registered trademarks, but only serve as a vehicle for promotion and marketing.

Require that all such websites register with Linden and formally accept the Guidelines (very similar to the request for the display of the “inSL” logo). Remember your international audience, too, and provide translations as well.

Reinforce the duty of all websites under the “Fansite Guidelines” to be strictly compliant with these, or face a Cease & Desist letter/Takedown notice.

Request to all owners of such websites a clear display of their non-affiliation with Linden or its subsidiaries, stated clearly and unambiguously.

Reword the statements of the Brand Center, which currently states that no requests for the usage of any of the trademarks (with few exceptions) will be taken, and that most emails will never be answered (or even read). Instead, work on a case-by-case basis, grandfather existing products and services, and work with organisations, groups, and companies owning those websites to make sure they clearly comply with the Guidelines.

Request assistance from the users to locate, identify, and report websites where your Fansite Guidelines are not in compliance, or their non-affiliation with Linden is not being clearly and unambiguously stated, or where your registered trademarks are illegally used. Deal with each case separately and encourage first the non-compliant websites to voluntarily display conforming information, and threaten with a Cease & Desist or takedown letter if they refuse.

Remove the threat to ban avatars from users that have inadvertently ignored (or misunderstood) the Guidelines. Instead, warn them and give due notice of their lack of compliance with the Guidelines, encourage them to sign on and register their sites, and validate their compliance after the warning.

Continue to invest in the world-wide co-promotion of the “Second Life®” brand by launching different levels of “affiliation programmes”; “inSL” is a good start but a very weak one with limited value (no aggressive promotion by Linden of the logo and word).

We would also request Linden to further clarify the potentially censurous policy towards residents implied in the guidelines in conjunction with the Terms of Service:

Clarify that the rules and policies outlined in the brand guidelines under the heading of Proper Reference to Linden Lab’s Brand Names in Text do not apply to cases covered by rights of free speech, including but not limited to nominative use of trademarked terms under US law and equivalent rights conferred upon users of the Second Life® service by local legislation.

Clarify that Linden Research does not intend to ban or threaten to ban users exerting the rights delineated above, independently of the contractual relationship created by their usage of the Second Life® service.

We feel that the above proposal, if correctly implemented, and duly promoted, will not only reinforce Linden’s claim to their registered trademarks, but positively encourage their further widespread in all media, without hurting the millions of hours spent in the past year by dozens of thousand of users to promote and disseminate Linden’s products and services world-wide.

Windlight released

So Linden got the windlight viewer released as main viewer. I like windlight it looks awesome. This release however is as I see it premature, manly because a really needed feature from the old view are totally missing the possibility to from the server steer the lighting settings. With the new added possibilities with lighting in windlight this would really have added to the SL life. It was there in the last main viewer even if more limited than the windlight light options.

There is also some other for me good reasons to hold the update off, yesterday havoc4 came live finally, now a new viewer. As tester moving up two different component at the same time makes the trouble shooting harder. All problems have to be pin pointed more accurate. The possible change set is bigger, backing down and isolation a problem is a bigger work. Then also this week been a hell in stability, both with LL serviced being down and as I think the viewer handling error cases such and not getting the expected result from a failing server making it crash. In 1.18.6.77495 (Windlight with Balp/Nicholaz patches) I have quite few crashed, this week with 1.19.1.RC4, I have not experience one day with less that two crashes, often more, and man many times short after teleporting rezzing a new region, or after crashing logging in rezzing the old region. This week I files 6 different viewer crashes as Jira issues, and one on sound not working. When crashing this much it's started to get really irritation needing to start the viewer two, sometime three times looking at the log to see if I would have sound logging in.

Maybe i can'ty tell you what happend to me in second life, well in my second life I have been busy being a malkavian vampire, I have learned much about how CCS work, and This blog will i follow US law and make SL™ or not? I'm swedish using a US hosting for a second life resident, one can argue that as resident i live in the US, all my life is on linden lab servers, in the US. On the other had my handler is in sweden, and thats defintly not the US.

The clarification form Jeska Linden, and the FAQ she points at are inconstant and said different stuff. In answer to the announce Jeska write: "it’s OK to say: “My store in the Second Life world accepts", and links to the brand center, that states: "This is NOT OK: a Second Life, my Second Life" and "This is OK: the Second Life® virtual world, the Second Life® world".

This branding stuff, need to be taken back to the drawing board, this total change form the fan-kit rules (that still is available for download if I got Vint right).

A new issue of the Swedish SL-Magazine Slainte is now out if you knew some swedish look at page 10, I have been writing again. This time more positive, it's a sort, well sort of short invitation to a event at Blacklist on sunday 20:00 Swedish time or 11AM slt, and now i hope i got teh time translation correct.'

As this blog in sin english I'l translate it for you.

On march 9 @ 11AM SLT, something new and exciting will happen, second lifes best and most popular punk and rock club will make a Swedish effort. By getting two really good DJ with a large rage of Swedish punk music some light will be spread on the important Swedish music style. The initiative to this festival comes from Balp Allen , as when he was on a longer trip feel that to little time was given to the Swedish punk. Swedish music as such gets played, but way to little of the punk, especially towards an international audience. TO try to make a small break in this Blacklist will have a four hour Swedish punk gala, you can be sure some old style like Ebba Grön, Attentat will be heard and probably some new music by Asta Kask. I can't give any guess on what is going to be played, but Balp usually plays some Asta Kask and Sjofin often have MOB47 on her sets. I think it's brave to run this event as most of the audience can't understand a word of the lyrics.

DJ Info:
Balp Allen, have been a year in second life, he now plays regularly at three different clubs. Mostly his sets contain Punk, Rock and Goth music. Since the first week in January he have two regular sets a week at Blacklist. Balp is from Möldndal but now lives across the border in Gothenburg. (A note, The towns of Gothenburg and Mölndal have today grown together.)

Sjofin Oh, is an American girl girl that during several years lives in Sweden, she have however left Sweden for Switzerland. She usually plays a mix of Punk, Rock and Hardcore. She is since long one of the regular DJ at The Blacklist.

At the moment with the Pirate Bay trial copyright is put to it's test. I can understand when you see a bad sexgen bed, and make your own copy add your own animations. I can understand when you hear a great Rammstein song and like to play that for your sim neighbours. I can't understand when you get a free product from Ziggy with the only demand to change and sell is that you give your customers the same right, to change and sell, instead chooses to stop them from this.

I have been the subject of a fraud like this, Hunney Jewell, she made some small changes to Ziggy's ZHAO-II and packaged this with some free animations. Configured this for male and female avatars. Good work, well worth the 10 lindens she charge for it, if it wasn't for that she at the same time take away my rights as customer. Her version i can't no longer change, I can't give away. My rights are totally revoked. When I got my HJAO i told her I couldn't change the scripts, she claimed I had not bought this, and demanded that I pay her an extra 10000 lindens. With regards that she are not allowed to spread the program based on ZHAO and Franimation with out the code, it's quite rude to demand this. Sadly she don't seam to care about her customers at all and tried to sell this to onkowing animators. ZHAO is a good product, please get it and give Ziggy some tips for making it. But make sure to spread how Hunney uses other peoples work to scam for money. Her acts is against all ideals that open source stands for. If you find any product based on HJAO, send me an IM I'm intressted in knowing how many she fooled to pay the outrageous 10.000 lindens.

I dagarna med Pirate Bay åtal och allt kommer upphovsrätt och annat på sin spets. Jag kan ha förståelse för att när man ser en taskig sexgen säng att man kör en kopia och lägger in egna animationer. Jag kan ha förståelse för att när man hör en underbar sång av Rammstein vill man
spela den för sina simgrannar. Jag kan dock inte ha förståelse för att om man får en gratis produkt från Ziggy med enda kravet på att få ändra och sälja det är att man ger sina kunder samma rättigheter, nämligen att ändra och sälja. Istället väljer man att hindra dem från detta.

Jag har råkat ut för en sådan bedragare, Hunney Jewell, hon har gjort några små ändringar till Ziggy’s ZHAO-II och paketerat detta med några grattis animationer och konfigurerat det för manliga och kvinnliga avatarer. Med tanke på att hon inte får, enligt upphovsrättslagen, sprida programmet baserat på ZHAO, och Franimation, tycker jag det är ganska oförskämt att ställa detta krav på mig. Tyvärr verkar hon inte bry sig om sina kunder eller lagen för fem öre, utan försöker kränga detta till ovetande animatörer. ZHAO är en bra produkt, köp den gärna ge gärna Ziggy ett bidrag men hjälp till att sprida hur Hunney utnyttjar andras jobb för att lura till sig extra pengar. Hennes agerande är tvärt emot allt som öppen källkod står för. Om ni hittar någon

I walked right into this and I knew of it. I got told of a nice addition to the AO I uses, and decided to test it out. Good, but the stuff was no-transfer and based on ZHAO, something is fishy. I came configured with animations, sure one of them are no-transfer, no problems. I open the product and got confused all animations was the usually free ones and transfer. But the scripts, no modify. This have to be an error so I contacted the maker, she calmed i have not bought the scripts just the product. Well she based her product on ZHAO GPL:ed and Then she have to follow GPL.

After some discussion she offered to sell the code top me for 10000 lindens. OMG... I sent her some links and she read them and still don't like to give me access to the product I bought for less that 10000 lindens extra. She is clear violation of the GPL. The GPL v2 (original of the ZHAO) states:


  3. You may copy and distribute the Program
(or a work based on it, under Section 2) in
object code or executable form under the terms
of Sections 1 and 2 above provided that you also
do one of the following:

    a) Accompany it with the complete corresponding
    machine-readable source code, which must be

Either of these three offers are there. There was no code in the product, if was locked, there was no such offer in the readme file, I only got an offer that she sell me the code for 10000 lindens extra. She now tries to clam her cost for "physically performing source distribution" is 10000 lindens because she refused to do this and this too her so long time.

It looks like tome time the text render script don't start as it should when the boards are rezzed, i heard about this in 0.8.4 but it can be more versions out there with this problem. Resetting all scripts in the board seams to solve the the problem. So, select the board, e.g. right click and edit, go into the Tools menu, and select "Reset Scripts in Selections" forth entry from the bottom i my viewer version.

Well not me, but me, in line with you can't criticise something unless you know something about it. I got a greifer now, the stuff that some hope IDV will protect against *grin*. She is a couple of days old, and already ID verified. I wonder how the good number of 80% worked was calculated? The number of LL employees that was in the public records, and HOW CAN 80% be a good number? That means the two of ten residents don't count. Now the alpha test group apparently wasn't as diverse and spread over the globe as the test group. But in stead of ranting, and telling what is doesn't do in world (as dandellion so nicely looked at). Lets have a look at Nadine, the Northolt lady not Nozaki. She on the image.

I started her a test and look at how the 1.18.6RC actually worked, for this I made a new alt, Nadine, she is a CSI:NY fan and interested in digging into how stuff really works, maybe she will show up here writing about how the life as adult in sl is. Well after creation I made a look around in the CSI:NY sims that are quite fun. She solve the two murder games there. (a little to simple i.m.h.o. but on the other hand I'm used to the client).

So we started to look at when the new viewer added, age verification and a new login system. The login system, well looked uglier apparently using html for layout in stead of just laying out the object. I can't see the use of that and sound like an other additions we really don't need. But the big ugly think is the Age Verification. How can you verify someone with out seeing then or talking to some one you trust that knows them?

Yes the answer is you can't Age Verification is a scam, it's not about verifying it's about lying. It's how it works in the land of laws, the lawyers have enter now we have to lie. We all know this will not work but lets pretend it does so that we can pretend we have done something. So my first attempt was to use some real Swedish info from someone still alive and kicking. That didn't work she was not in Aristotle/Integrity database. Apparently I was not alone (Integrity probably lied there asses of to sell as marketing people often do...) the horrible think is that 80% was the good number that tried to archive... 80%, 99.9% I could understand, 50 of the normal online used at any time 80% that's 10.000 concurrent uses, 95511 uses taht logged in last week it would have failed for with the goal numbers. This 100.000 resident is what they there sample test show and the was OK with that as OK. The numbers are disappointed, one in five ok, what are we at one in two? how many fails now?

But why give up if you can't get age verified, use the brain, where is the company located, what have they tested with, the US, and California. Google quick gave me the drivers licenses of a dead rapper guy... Well that can't work of course not that are not that stupid... are they... Yes they are... Age verified. Tupac is her RL name, she, he have been dead since 1996. I think she, he is really cool to get a SL account . I mean beeing killed in a drive by shooting in 1996 and getting a SL avatar, second life opening in 2002. And I guess Tupac have a hole bunch of alt's by now.

One thing is sure I'll never trust the Age Verified flag for anything.

But now i got talked into making a little view notice about a fashions show held in Crimson Shadow the 4:th of December (today). I i posted the add here and i can tell that Rezzable hired me to make some role play happen in that sim. I'm in charge of making role play happen in crimson shadow, more about that later.

1: I love to dance! I'm almost fanatical about it, and while other builders stand still, I have music playing and dances along.

2: I'm using the linux viewer, most of the time, I also have XP and Vista on the computer but i seldom reboot to used those viewers. Most of the time i use Balp's compilation of the Nicolaz viewer. When on windows, I use the Nicholaz version as well. The main reason is that I can't live without my friends list and the think that LL now have is seriously brain damaged.

3: I'm an linden whore, or escort as most people prefer to call it. Even if i don't have time to do much sexual work at the moment.

4: I have to many works in SL. The once that I actively places time on each week. Crimson Shadow, not much public visible yet, but there will be something shortly. Dark Angels, been hosting like noon all but two days there. Carnage, been hosting the other two days at Noon there. Dark Moon, trying to talk and look over the place as much as possible. Then comes the shop, and making animations, my contest boards, my host solutions. All this takes time....

5: I log and keep notes on people, Carnage n00b being one of the most common things I write on people, sorry about that *giggle*

6: I spell even worse in RL that in SL, I'm dyslectic and not directly proud of it but that how it is.

7: My RL is MY Secret, and only the three persons i trust most have a clue on where in sweden i live. Maybe like five or six people have a clue on what i do for a living, I feel that this is needed with my former job here as escort, that could damage my RL work badly.

8: I spend to little time taking care of my friends, and i feel really bad for that, I'm sorry, just IM me and I try to chat with you. I promise.

Now it's only to tagg 8 bloggers as well... Balp, Apmel, Ono, Raul, thats four and halfway. Adding Ika, Jennyfur and Kate leave that with only one more to tag. Linden Labs an the future

Reading Nicholaz, what a hero, blog on the future of second life. He put a new perspective into my complaining about Linden Labs not communicating, they are just not ion the same time as us residents. They live in a bright future. What they really need is to find a quick turn around time, make stuff come around to the users quickly, release early, release often.

Having simple bug fixes, even is not perfect lying around for months don't hold. Waiting for the prefect solutions don't work, give all the developers a crash course in scrum, XP, what ever make sure you have big working tests of everything in the viewer, and the backends, automate these tests, now, yesterday, add to the test day by day. Sure testing that rendering is right is hard, so wait with that. But the protocols, the server are easy to test. All backends and all communication with the backends, all thats should be easy to add. Sure if you are four five years behind it can take some time to catch up. But at least make sure all new code, all changed code have tests before it's committed.

Vint and Codie put together a blogger party at CodeRed. Both Codie and Vint are really good in the marketing stuff, the sim filled way to early. Some how then both missed to get a DJ, and the location was a little wrong. But i hope none of the guest noticed anything of this, I was a little worried when i found the surl going into my shop, well, also would have been a little fun, all shopping at my shop instead of partying *giggle*

With just some 20 minutes to spare Codie came on and we fixed a landing zone on the root, I asked who was going to dj. No they hadn't fixed that. Quickly i looked at friends online and found Balp, convinced him to DJ and the party could start. They two might be to of the best artists, but I'm not sure about the organizer party. The rest of the party was really great and i have so fun in my new Robot outfit. Just to bad i was Sunday and i had to leave early. Could have stayed much longer with my love.

Blog Action day, and this year it's all about the environment. What is the environment for us second lifers, does it really matter to us or is the main issue something about griefers, ad farms of bad builders. It the main environment lagging sims, bed written scripts, stupid spamming stuff? Or is there something more in our lives we should look at? The second life environment is all different that out RL one, but in the end the problems here and in RL are quite similar it's about limited resources. Some of the SL resources are quite easy to see, the number or prims from one. Then there is 0 left it's ended you cant add more. Others are harder to follow, runtime in client and simulators form one. Most of us have seen a sim lag to death, gray people all around us as the bandwidth and server resources end.

You liked feed back, so this is going to be one more LL bashing session. Ginsu posted a blog entry, stating that Linden are the most transparent of all public company she have seen. Is that that case I'm sorry about the state of information in the US. Yes they do some thinks right, but to be honest, if it wasn't for Chrome and Codie, I would have left SL. These two friend are actually what keeps me coming back to SL. The rest of my friends I would miss you, yes and i would be hard to leave you, I would be sad, but i could live with that, and Linden some times pissed me enough to be close to that border where it would have been worth it. However the love of my sis and my girlfriend keep me getting back in.

To be honest the request for feedback, is one more example of bad communication. It takes up the blog about VAT, “VAT are you talking about?” as good communication! Did you ever care enough to read the comment on that before calling it good? That long entry is full of legal errors spotable by a novice like me, Starting with the easiest to verify, your VAT number. All EU VAT numbers start with a country code. No EU country have EU, you can register in EU you have to register in ONE country! The second one, until the sudden day they payed the tax, after that day they are paying the tax, but just that now the price is 25% higher because I'm Swedish. Yes my tax level is high, but it would have been nice to get notice of at 25% extra fee, I have learned that they promised to give 60 days warning on land price raises, be fore i started SL. That much more that was given, in fact I didn't get any notice form LL until the official blog. I still haven't got any mail, but on my account there is a asterisks so i might pay it.

Second I had an inventory loss for me very valuable stuff, my favorite dances, not a word from the lindens until they closed the bug report system, your bug report is now gone because we didn't like that system. Thats all, Love the feed back, i hear many other have problems with inventory losses, it keep me from shopping, I'm very very conservative shopper now, the loss of my dances, the blatant ignorance from the lindens. To get stuff it have to be something I really really like, and that I'm not suer i dare getting it, so i have to be cheep as well,if i loose it so i can get it back. When will Linden tell all resident that there still haven't delivered voice to all platforms? When will Linden's foll fill the big wish of getting back a usable user interface? Good there is the Nicholaz build, more stable and with a user interface that works. Also i don't care about voice personally, tried dislikes and never going to use again.

Tell what they did was to raise the cost with 25% and not telling before and trying to blame EU for it. According to there blog that have been paying VAT for us all the time as they are supposed to do. Until last month the VAT was included in the price, the priced was VAT inclusive, now suddenly they isn't.

Now in the communication Linden Labs finally cleared out that they screwed us EU citizens, they raised our prices in a unethical way. Good that they finally clear that out. They also announced that this raise was so unethical that they backed on the time frame for the mainland fee's. This issue is not about EU taxes, it's about what price Linden takes out of it's customers, until now the price have been the same, e.g.. the end user price have been the same, but tax levels have differ. Not the end price will differ.

Linden also makes some remarked how bad the VAT works in the worlds today, something i fully agree to. They however make small mistake, the EU is no "European legislation ", the EU makes recommendations sometimes mandatory, that are incorporated into the nations laws of each country. These laws differ a little or much between the different EU states. Making it almost impossible to understand. Skatteverket have some information how this is incorporated into Swedish law. Lindes also missed that they can choose to just register in one country "The trader is free to chose any country it wishes." some EU states have lower VAT that Sweden, I would love to pay Spanish, or UK VAT instead. (The rules for that is in "Regulation (EC) No 792/2002").

The new EU-VAT fee Linden Labs added don't make sense to me. I try to understand what they do and how that relates to Swedish, European law.

According to "skatteverket" an foreign comapny may register from swedish taxes, get a swedish tax registration and sell to us as any other swedish company. That is they have to give prices including VAT to customer can't list there prices excluding VAT to customers. That can choose on only register in one EU country and pay the VAT for that country all over Europe is they like.

If they don't register in Sweden I'm as customer are responsible to pay VAT. I do that bu talking to "skatteverket". The mandatory take out of taxes in the way Linden now have chosen is probably not legal in Sweden. (How ever I'm not a lawyer, don't take my word for it.) Also this make me protected from Swedish "consumers rights" laws. That are no longer selling at US servire that are selling a service in Sweden. If this isn't a swedish service it's not up for being taxed, given my reading of the information on "skatteverket".

Something here have to change for the Lindens to follow Swedish law, something that have them self choosen to do. And it's OK for them to list different prices to different countries, BUT THEY HAVE TO LIST IT INCLUDING TAXES if they are to take out the TAX.

Crimson Shadow, Rezzable preview

When Right as rain send me a landmark and a texture i knew something was up. Rezzable had something up the sleeve. The name and the texture, Crimsom Shadow. Hmmm. something for a vamp like me *grins* The arrival, was awesome, the top of the tower, the skies stuff that i have never seen in SL before. But not the feeling of uniqueness that i got when I arrived for the first time in the greenines home.

The environment is extremely well done. Just look at the background, the backdrop. It's awesome, make the rest of the vampire castle i have seen looks like old and boring. From the entrance the top there are a tp. What a TP bye the way? Look at the nice details in the pentagram when i arrived. Look at the rotating rings around my avatar. Great stuff, truly great.

Next to this arrival point is a small dark room, with a thrown a place that invites to role place, with domination and slaves. A place for a vampire king and his slaves. Here is also a dance positions with several good sine-wave dances. This is definitly a positions where one could entertain one self for several hours, or rater entertain some one sled for many many hours.

Exploring the area further i find a dark club, with some potentials and a shop that i think might have a little to high prices for my taste. All over everything is a great dark feeling. This is definitely a place that will visit again several times, maybe more that the greenines. Not the same wow feeling, on the other more in my line of RP. Given that this area will hold up, make good RP and have something to feed on, it will definitely keep me coming.

Trust

How can one act to people with out trust? How can one trust people? There are some people I really trust in SL. Why do i trust them. One think is sure Identity Verification will not help me trust anyone. In RL i don't trust a person just because that can ID them self. I'm sure that the person behind the counter at the convince store, the petrol station, don't trust me just because I used my ID to get money from my credit card. Yes in Sweden ID is very often needed to used the credit card. Know the identity of someone don't build trust. What you do and how you act does.

I trust Chrome, I'm sure she won't lie to me. I trusted her long ago I knew anything about her RL. I know a little now because I trust her. She know most of all in SL about me because I trust her. Would seeing her ID the first day have changed this? Maybe, but probably not to trust her more. With giving out that comes the question why. Have I looked at the ID of any of my RL friends, yes sure some, especially to see an ugly photo they have on there drivers licence. Have I done this before or after I started to trust them. After in all cases. Would I show my ID to someone I don't trust? To buy stuff, to take out money, of if it's a police, yes sure. Some other, no, that would definitely lower my trust in the person, why would then feel like they need to know how I am. Asking for ID is a sure sign that they don't trust me, so why should I trust them?

How do we build trust?

The first rule of trust is never lie. Not saying stuff is no problem, I don't give out any information about my RL, other that I'm Swedish. People seam to be able to trust me despite this. But I never lie to hide any details, lies always get out. That's the way it is, being honest and truth full is really important in RL. But it's so much more important in SL. Also keep in mind that in SL there are many different cultures, many different subcultures. I often RP, the personality I show up is different.

The second rule is "No Drama!". Second life as all electronic forms are great for misunderstandings they live there own lives. Be open make sure you understand the person before you do anything. If you think something sounds strange, or wrong ask again. Cultural and language difference make stuff hard to get right. It's better to look like a fool asking twice, that to prove you self being one acting on the misunderstandings.

Also trust your friend with there privacy. Don't spread rumours, don't tell anyone else what you heard in privacy. Even if you might think it's the right think to do. It's really hard and can put you in hard positions. When I know much about some one from private conversations I often get into the positions where I have to tell about it. I don't know how many times I answered friend with "I can't answer you on that, I know to much." Even people I trust very much so far I all person have understood that and respected that I keep out of that subject. The hardest questions in this is probably if you find out that a friend is cheating on a friend. It's really, really hard in that case. I would never tell, I would how ever talk serious with the cheater, doing my best to convince about rule 1, "Tell the truth".

What is PG?

One questions none seams to asked during all this Nipplegate is, What is PG? Not really true as Wrath did wire a little about PG in her nice blog entry. I think this issue need deeper looking into. This issue will also be extremely more important once the age verifications goes live. MPAA in there PG rules state:

"There may be some profanity and some depictions of violence or brief nudity. But these elements are not deemed so intense as to require that parents be strongly cautioned beyond the suggestion of parental guidance."

"Nudity - Natural nudity, with no sexual context."

One can also notice that BFCC's guide for U (universal) is almost the same as PG in the US. "Nudity - Occasional natural nudity, with no sexual context."

The community standard make some text about this, stating that PG: ratings are harder in SL that in movies:

"Indecency
Second Life is an adult community, but Mature material is not necessarily appropriate in all areas (see Global Standards below). Content, communication, or behavior which involves intense language or expletives, nudity or sexual content, the depiction of sex or violence, or anything else broadly offensive must be contained within private land in areas rated Mature (M). Names of Residents, objects, places and groups are broadly viewable in Second Life directories and on the Second Life website, and must adhere to PG guidelines."

One can notice that this includes violence. How ever the LLCS (Linden Labs Combat System) is fully described on the webpages. This must give a view on now the rules atre fo been seen, so topless, people probably are OK in PG areas. Or should be, it's ok on public beaches. (At least here). Running around nude in the street probably isn't in PG area. I can be OK with that, in a mature sim all is OK. There is also a tool that is said to be "Again this is voluntary," so landowner in no way will have any problem not flagging land Restricetd and have any mature content.

I URGE ALL LAND OWNERS NOT TO FLAG ANY LAND RESTRICTED!!!!

Why because it will not to any difference at all. That is promised to be voluntary, so there will be not actions form the lindens if you don't. It will only lower the number of potential clients. I will not help keep kids from getting to the material. Kids isn't allowed in the grid. Kids have no problem getting age verified. To submit information and cross check with PUBLIC records can never prove anything about the person sending in the information. It only probes that the public information is well public. If I already lied about my identity to get online... What extra is there to lie about my identity to get verified?

The other big problem is that adult content is not even tried to be cleared out what that mean?

Actually i don't like this kind of messaged, but this issue is worth putting some light on so I'll do it.

Over at Burning Life more stuff is happening the old leader (that placed out the censor boxes). A vote is started to convince Iridium Linden to remove Vicero Lambert. As leader for this years Burning Life.

First when i read i was thinking of this detail to pass by, and not point it out, I had linked to the Burning life blog of Gavin. Where the cite appears long long down, but as even dandellion, apparently missed it, I'll take this here as well:

I'm sorry Iridium, something must have gone wrong, somehow you must have got to long in you striving to make a good work. "The road to hell is paved with good intentions" I think this is a good example of this. Iridium probably means well, her intentions are probably good. I'm putting my self in the line that thinks the only good way out of this is that Iridium cleans up this mess, that is make a clean excuse to Gavin, That linden puts some effort into helping him to rebuild the statue, one good way would be to give him salary for the time it takes him to restore the statue. That that define and state what the rules are.

How many times i read the community standards I can't see that Venus de milo should not go into a PG area in SL. So all around SL please do what it's your force to make this change.

People that demand that Linden make something about this.

How much more can we take?

How much more shit will the SL residents take? Lindens censoring and view on SL for each day make me more and more confused and scared. Yesterday the news of age verification now is in, or halfway in. And trying to make this a issue of trust, in what way will that I know the social social security number of someone about 18 make me more trust worthy? That is what they verify, that I know the social security number of someone above the age of 18. I did know that of my parents when I was 12, I don't know that today.

That and today in run into that Linden have censored the Burning Life art exhibition. Tateru Nino, write two long entries about this, it also a long article on this on the burning life blog. In short, there was a big nice looking marble statue of a nude lady. The reason seams to be that that lade have nipples, way all above 18 should know that ladies have nipples. Maybe my understanding of this matter is a little to low as in the city I have grown up in there are sure at least 7 statues with nude girls, all having nipples. (Those where the ones that I could verify on wikipedia.)There also are some male figures with penis. I personally think the the outdoors of any Swedish city is a PG area. We have no "red-light" district, no explicitly porn. For example of public art in Sweden look at Solglitter, by Carl Milles. That statue also exists in St Louis and Costa Mesa in USA.

Late shall the lazy wake up, or I have to much work *giggle*. As a response to myg's nice blog about her virtual life I'll try to make up a little about mine.

Second Life:: Nadine Nozaki, it's me, where I was born the 11 January 2007. My home in in Calder, where i live with my sis, Chrome. Chrome and I meet on my first day in SL and that nice lady have been my support since them.
Blogger: One of the first thinks I did outside second life was to start a blog, The first post from 14 of January is not much to talk about. But there have been some better since then if i might say so my self.
FlickR: I have been on flickr since February, or maybe the end of January, the oldest image i can see id from 4:th of February. But i have 4 images before that. Having a free account have it's limitations. I have meet many wounder full people thou this page, the most fascinating is my Codie, ma petite rouge.
Picasa: This bleak copy of flickr, can it be used, sure it's bulk storage for spread many raw images not worth uploading on flickr.
Google pages: Tried bu never used, or how to say, make a small page there. Never came around to finish it.
Twitter: Trying to keep updated now and then. Updated from sl with /42, Squawk is cool wounder when they moved ready. Or from gtalk.
Jaiku: A twitter look alike from finland, some really nice additions like stream add of images, blogs and so on. Updated from sl with /42, Squawk is cool wounder when they moved ready.
Pownce: The newest version of the twitter idea, more privare, more friends communication.
Facebook: Hyped so much the Codie will definitely stay out *giggle* hides and is sure she will have to eat the words later.
Technorati: Most used to try to keep track on if any body links to my blog. As no one cares, it's empty *giggle*
